My art concentrates on the immediate, the situations, people and places that surround my everyday life. The
images I choose are the ones that leave a lasting impression, whether they are borne from social encounters, work, or professional life.

My work is simple, and always begins with a drawing and ends with a piece that marries bold colors and
lines with the drawing. The resulting work is generally a distorted reflection of the original idea.
The idea is not to copy life, but to express my memory of it.

My name is Alicia Kirsten Cosnahan. I am an artist living and working in Washington, DC. Art is my life, and these are my paintings.
